A bounty of wall décor options at Bountiful Home

Home Accents Today spoke with owner Jamie Merida of Maryland-based retailer Bountiful Home to get an update on the wall décor category.

Q. How important is wall décor to your product offering?

Wall décor is our third most popular category. Not only do we sell beautifully framed art, a variety of mirrors, and a few sculptural pieces, but we also offer the best custom framing services in the region. We are able to offer customers new pieces for their walls, and we can update their favorite pieces with fresh matting and frames.

Q. Do you merchandise your wall art with other décor? And how so?

Our store is merchandised with vignettes that may be a whole living room, or a pretty console scene for a foyer. I’m a big believer that a selection of like images, such as a series of lifeguard photos, makes a more dramatic and sophisticated impact.

Q. What size, theme, price point seems to be doing well with consumers?

I have noticed our customers enjoy wall art that comes in a series. They’ll opt to get a pair of panels or a trio of botanical prints for their home. We skew to selling items that reflect the coastal lifestyle of our region.
