Banana Republic launches first home collection

San Francisco – Gap Inc. is expanding a $2 billion apparel nameplate into home décor, part of an initiative it announced three years ago to explore opportunities in the category.

Banana Republic’s new BR Home collection has debuted on the apparel brand’s e-commerce site and follows the retailer’s expansion last year into baby goods and athletic wear. The collection will also be carried in 15 Banana Republic stores, according to WWD.

The launch collection includes bedding, pillows, throws, rugs, candles and art.

At the top end of the line, linen duvet covers start at $310 queen, with linen sheets sets priced at $360 and linen shams at $120 apiece. Addition bedding constructions include percale, sateen, washed cotton and 100% hemp.

Dec pillows are available in linen (staring at $80), velvet ($80), mud cloth ($95), cashmere ($129), cotton ($145), wool ($180), suede ($180) and shearling ($280).

Area rugs are offered in two sizes: 6×9-ft. and 8×10-ft. Collections include Moroccan berger, classic wool, wool vintage shag, contemporary wool, textured wool, natural jute, modern flatweave and Nomdaic Heritage (cotton/wool rugs made in India and starting at $2,295).

Gap Inc.’s signature Gap Home brand launched at Walmart as an exclusive in 2021.
