Currey names former Anthropologie merchant to new lighting and accessories position

ATLANTA – Currey & Company has appointed former Anthropologie merchant Amanda Spence to its newly created position of director of accessories and portable lighting.

The creation of this new position evolved out of the company’s growth in the accessory category and the expansion of table and floor lamps, the company said.

After graduating from Colgate University, Spence began her career with Anthropologie and was one of the founding employees of its distinctive gardening store, Terrain. She has also worked for West Elm and Napa Home & Garden, where Currey said she used her “brand-developing and curatorial buying skills to procure products from around the world.”

Spence is also an avid scuba diver and dog lover with “a fearless approach to work and product design,” said Currey by way of introduction.

“Mandy is a creative merchant who is deeply skilled in international product development of home goods,” said Currey’s Vice-President of Product Development, Pam Bailey. “Mandy possesses a strong business acumen and an eye for style and trend that will drive growth strategy and assortment organization in this new position which will focus on Currey’s growing interior and garden accessories category and our distinctive signature lamp category.”
