NESQUEHONING, Penn. – Elk Home on Monday acquired the brand and associated inventory of Norwell Lighting, a Massachusetts-based designer and distributor of interior and exterior residential lighting fixtures, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition expands Elk Home’s product portfolio and enhances its lighting offering with the addition of Norwell’s exterior and interior lighting designs, categories that have continued to expand for Elk Home, Elk said in a release.
“We look forward to the addition of Norwell products to our lighting portfolio,” said CEO Todd Webb. “The heritage of Norwell’s quality, design and attention to detail aligns with our strategic plan as we continue to elevate and enhance our lighting offering across all price points.”
Norwell is a 70-year-old company that designs and engineers its products in East Taunton, Mass., according to the company’s website. It has two affiliated companies, Ilex and Custom Metalcraft. Its lineup includes sconces, flush mounts, chandeliers and pendants, and includes outdoor offerings.
“For Norwell to continue to compete in the residential market, I felt we need the backing of a larger organization who can take Norwell to the next level. I want to wish Elk Home the very best during this transition,” said Alan Indursky, president of Norwell.
Norwell’s inventory has been relocated to Elk Home’s distribution center in Rabun Gap, Ga. Its customers can continue to purchase Norwell products through their existing sales representatives, Elk said.
Attendees at this week’s Dallas Lightovation can visit both showrooms in the Trade Mart. Elk Home is located in Suite 3606 and Norwell Lighting in Suite 3321.
