Expect the flavors of fall in Crate & Barrels 2022 fall collection

NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Crate & Barrel has released its Fall 2022 First Look trends look book, and the focus is on inviting luxury into the home with a warm, spice-inspired palette, enhanced functionality, and a nod to Mid-Century design.

Trend highlights from the fall collection include Built with Purpose, Luxe Fall Colors and Materials and Mid-Century Inspiration. Sebastian Brauer, Crate & Barrel’s senior vice president of brand product design and development and metaverse, elaborated on what each of these highlights mean:

  • Built with purpose: “Each piece is designed with functionality in mind, whether that means storage solutions, appliances that save time or multi-purpose products.”
  • Luxe fall colors and materials: “Our rich fall palette translates our favorite seasonal flavors like brown sugar, cinnamon, turmeric and gingers into luxe materials.”
  • Mid-century inspiration: “Timeless lines and quality materials invites everyday life to exist in harmony with beautiful design.”

When asked where the company gets its product development inspiration when creating these focus trends, Brauer said that it takes its customer’s buying habits into consideration and looks at how day-to-day life is evolving when designing any collection. “For example: as work-from-home and the hybrid work models continue to trend, we looked to produce innovate home office pieces and storage solutions.”

As for trends, Brauer believes fall flavors are always a highly anticipated highlight of the season. “We’ve also seen continued interest around mid-century design, so we wanted to put a luxury but livable twist on this trend. And we know, customers want and need more functional home spaces, so we always put this at the forefront of our designs.”
