India Stanton Miller
Vice President of Creative and Showroom Design
Hickory White, Sherrill Furniture
Born and raised in High Point, N.C, India Miller has deep roots in the furniture industry.
Miller’s father, Jim Stanton, was director of design for Heritage Henredon and then, along with others, started Woodmark originals, a successful upholstery manufacturing company. Growing up surrounded by all things furniture and design inspired and motivated Miller’s heart, creativity and drive from early on.
After graduating with a degree in interior design, she began a career at Alderman and Albion with set work design. From there she moved into retail and store design for both Drexel Heritage and Henredon. She was instrumental in creating architectural elements for retail layout of wall placement and merchandising, all details that would bring the store or gallery to fruition. She also was involved in the retail side of furniture, working for Boyles Furniture as its vice president of visual display.
Today, Miller is vice president of creative for Hickory White, Sherill Furniture and showroom design. Miller said, “Our plans for 2024 are and always will be designing and building the finest products available and keeping the factories up and running so its people are taken care of.” The legacy of Sherrill was built on the premise that ‘it’s not one person but rather all to make a successful company,’ Miller said, and she plans to focus on good designs that result in sales. “I am most grateful that what I do is part of the Sherrill plan.”
