Scandinavian home store expands with second Connecticut location

NEW PRESTON, Conn.—Eleish Van Breems Home, which already has a store and design studio in Westport, Conn., and a seasonal store in Nantucket, Mass., has opened a new venue here.

The latest store offering Scandinavian home goods and antiques is in the former Dawn Hill Antiques store, which was once the town’s post office, according to a report in the Connecticut Post. It will be open Thursdays through Sundays after its open house on Dec. 9.

The New Preston location carries Gustavian and Rococo antiques as well as Scandinavian mid-century furniture and contemporary furniture from Verellen and Thayer Coggin, reported the Westfair Business Journal. Other products include handcrafted walnut and ash lamps, rugs, Nordic tableware, linens and gifts and products from Scandinavian brands such as Gustavsberg porcelain, Marimekko textiles, Skultuna home décor and glassware from Hein Studio, the news outlet noted.

The company was founded by Owners Rhonda Eleish and Edie van Breems in 1997 as an antiques gallery and later expanded into interior design and custom furniture along with Scandinavian furnishings.

The owners are authors of three books: “Reflections on Swedish Interiors,” “Swedish Country Interiors” and “Swedish Interiors.”
