Science and design come together in October symposium

HIGH POINT — Science in Design is hosting its first-ever Design,  Art & Science Symposium, focused on the evidence-based education on science in design, set for Oct. 12-14 in High Point.

Led by Science In Design founders Mike Peterson, president of Visionary Design Marketing, and Linda Kafka, president of Livable Environment Inc., the inaugural Design, Art & Science Symposium will feature leading experts and scholars in the field of science and design as well as networking, experiential exhibits, product discovery, innovation and inspiration.

Held concurrently with High Point Market, the Design, Art & Science Symposium will begin with a welcome reception at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame on Oct. 12, followed by its main educational event on Oct. 13, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The Loft at Congdon Yards. On the third day, Oct. 14, a Science in Design exhibit and experiential pop-ups will be on display from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Design, Art & Science Symposium’s registration is now open and tickets are available. The Symposium’s Call for Contributors also is open, soliciting experienced experts in the fields of science and design to submit topics and proposed presentations for the Oct. 13 educational program. The deadline for submissions is Aug. 11.
