Universal’s new HP Market partner has a soft spot for flooring

HIGH POINT – Launching at this month’s High Point Market, Universal Furniture and Stanton Rug company have partnered on a rug program for retailers that features Stanton’s new line of in-stock, pre-sized area rugs.

“This partnership provides retailers with a one-stop-shop opportunity to refresh their floors and generate revenue without carrying inventory,” said Neil MacKenzie, senior vice president of marketing for Universal Furniture. “It’s an easy opportunity for retail stores to present these products just as they appear in the showroom at High Point Market.”

The area rugs will be shown on the third floor of the Universal showroom, accompanying the new Modern collection.

The program features 26 of Stanton’s best-selling, hand loomed patterns, each available in three to five colorways. The hand-serged rugs are in-stock and ship within two to three days of order placement. Rug sizes range from 6’x9’ to 10’x14’, and fibers comprise indoor/outdoor, luxury performance, 100 percent premium wool and blended fibers.

“As complementary product categories in the home furnishings space, we saw an opportunity to partner with Universal and optimize the showroom experience by creating beautifully styled environments that can be easily replicated and tell a holistic design story,” said Christine Zampaglione, senior director of marketing at Stanton Rug company.

“Universal Furniture retailers and designers have an opportunity to guide the consumer by offering the full room for purchase and a simplified design experience that has been thoughtfully merchandised.”
