Union, N.J. – The deadline for potential acquirers of Bed Bath & Beyond’s properties has been pushed back and the auction date reset.
In the extension notification filed in the bankruptcy court, Bed Bath said it was moving extending the bidding window “to ensure the most value maximizing transaction is achieved.”
The company’s buybuy Baby operation continues to generate the most interest from potential buyers, according to CNBC.
“The chain of namesake Bed Bath & Beyond stores is still expected to be dissolved after the bankruptcy,” it reported.
The final bid deadline is now June 16, with the auction set for June 21.
NEW: Another extension was filed today following the June 8 filing. The hearing date listed below is updated to reflect the new schedule.
The sale hearing is to be conducted on June 27, at which time the court will consider approval for the bids.
