How-to: Refresh a retail assortment

Retailers are resetting their stores for spring with a focus on florals for everything from fabrics on pillows to candle scents to faux botanical displays of tulips, lavender and greenery. Along with florals, green continues to be strong for furniture and accents as are white and natural materials for lamps and shades, which can give an instant spring look to a room. Iconic motifs such as rabbits, which speak not only of Easter but can be carried on throughout the season, are showing up in both traditional and whimsical styles.

“A spring reset is almost expected. Whether it’s a green sofa with a spring feel to it, or floral accent pillows, by mid-January our customers are starting to look for spring.” —Jessica Crosby, owner of Delight in Designs, Grand Rapids, Mich.
